Another run with Ancoats Run Club (ARC) and this time we were celebrating ARC’s 6th birthday. There was cake and vegan treats, but we grabbed beers at Jimmy’s. Again, not a traditional pub, but only two or three blocks from the flat we we need to score it. The exciting time with ARC will be this Saturday when we’re doing a birthday pub crawl all around Ancoats (the neighborhood our flat is in), hitting several spots that are on my list to visit.
Also note, a running leaderboard was requested. I’ve added that at the bottom. It currently displays based on latest review, but I might change it to highest ranking… we’ll see.

Details:
Jimmy’s is NOT a traditional pub. For anyone in Seattle, it reminds me a bit of Lucky Liquor… without the cool penny-top bar. Lots of neon and plenty of hard alcohol. Most of the beer on tap was Jimmy’s brand beer, but I don’t think they actually brew it and I didn’t see any on cask.
Score:
Cask: 0 / 1 – None that I saw
Fireplace: 0 / 1 – None that I saw
Recorded Music: 0 / 1 – Music was playing, but it wasn’t obnoxious. Maybe it deserves half a point… but I assume there are times it gets loud
Seating: 1 / 2 – There was some comfy seating, but we were mostly outside
Community Energy: 1 / 1 – I did start talking to the people at the table next to me and they were happy to chat
Granddad: 1 / 2 – It’s a type of bar that some granddads would feel comfortable in
Morgan: 1 / 2 – She likes Lucky Liquor, but I think that’s as much for the pinball and TVs showing Monster Trucks as anything else and both were missing here
Overall: 4 / 10 — It’s not what I’m looking for most of the time. Seven Bro7hers is next door and would be preferable most nights… but when I want a Lucky Liquor type experience, it’s waiting for me.
